Action & Body Orientated Trauma work is specifically suited to very difficult life experiences. Particularly those where we felt threatened by what happened. To begin with the therapist creates a safe environment from which difficulties are gradually explored and processed using visualisation techniques, physical actions and words at various stages. It explores difficulties when memories of the event are vague or even absent. Due to the nature of this work (and the type of difficulties it works with) it can be longer in duration but effective in resolving issues more effectively (perhaps where other therapies haven’t been able to completely reduce distress).
